Established in 1983, Shingle Peak was one of the first vineyards to be established in New Zealand’s famed Marlborough wine region.

The unique aspects of Marlborough as a wine region meant that it was a natural development for a range of wines to be created from predominantly Marlborough fruit.  Thus, the Shingle Peak brand was established, with the label named for the distinctive mountain range behind the vineyard.

The immediate acclaim for the early Shingle Peak wines confirmed the potential of Marlborough as a premium producing wine district.  This initial success led to rapid expansion, and the development of the full range of varietals under the Shingle Peak name.

The signature Shingle Peak Sauvignon Blanc quickly achieved both domestic and international acclaim. This unprecedented success gave the winemaking and viticultural team the confidence to develop a whole range of cool climate wines, all finely crafted from premium fruit.

Our winemaking team strive for excellence and consistency in the production of the Shingle Peak range. They’re deeply passionate about working with fruit from the Marlborough region, renowned for its ability to produce striking fruit intensity and luscious flavours that are immediately appealing.
